To add Mathematical Equations, Special Characters, or Unicode Languages,
use the Character Map application which is almost available
on various platforms and operating systems.
MS Windows: To open Character Map, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Character Map.
Mac OS X: The Character Palette will appear in the Edit menu in any Mac OS X native application program. Place your cursor at the desired place. Select Edit > Special Characters. This will open the Character Palette.
If it does not appear, then you can set it to do so in System Preferences. Choose System Preferences from the menu and select International under Personal. Select the Input Menu tab, and place a check in the "Character Palette" checkbox. Then place a check by Show input menu in menu bar.
Linux Ubuntu: Click Applications, Accessories and then Character Map.
